The candidate will be expected to work every other weekend and holiday. They must have strong communication and critical thinking skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. The therapist will be responsible for tasks including aerosol setup, drawing arterial blood gases, and assisting with intubation. Experience in handling various respiratory equipment such as BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula is required. Candidates should be proficient in managing tracheostomy care and emergency respiratory situations. A strong background in critical care, including working with patients with ARDS and pneumonia, is essential. The therapist is expected to float between sections as needed and must adhere to safety protocols and patient care standards. The role involves working with adult and geriatric patient populations. The Respiratory Therapy Department emphasizes a proactive approach and encourages therapists to work at the top of their license. Candidates should be prepared to handle a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient outcomes.
