This is more than a recreation position – it’s an opportunity to build inclusive spaces where participants feel supported, empowered and celebrated every day. Working at the William L. Patena Community Center, this position plays a vital leadership role in the City’s Adaptive Recreation Program, serving individuals with developmental disabilities, physical challenges and hearing and/or visual impairments, along with their families and caregivers.Programs include afterschool, summer and adult day services offered through the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), as well as dances, workshops, community events and Team Peoria – the City’s award-winning Special Olympics program serving athletes ages 8 and older from Peoria and surrounding communities.
