DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Records Specialist 1, your work focuses on maintaining accurate inmate records and supporting essential facility procedures. In this role, you will perform the following duties:

• Record Review: Review inmate information from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Data Validation: Compare records with data from courts, law enforcement, and agency systems to confirm correctness
• Identification Processing: Guide inmates through photographing, fingerprinting, and interviews to verify identity
• Transport Coordination: Arrange details for inmate transfers or releases and confirm required approvals
• Information Communication: Share accurate updates with inmates, staff, and partnering agencies

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of clerical or correctional custodial experience; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
