Responsibilities Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions, document changes, and report concerns to the care team Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians during treatments, and monitor patient responses Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgical procedures Document comprehensive patient information, including vital signs, medications, treatments, and care outcomes, in the medical record Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans Manage multiple patients, prioritizing care based on acuity and clinical needs Ensure infection control practices are followed, including hand hygiene and PPE use Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences within the care plan Coordinate discharge planning with patients, families, and external resources to ensure a smooth transition home Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice and adhere to safety and regulatory standards Qualifications Required: One year of recent Med Surg RN experience Required: Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Required: Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification Preferred: NIHSS certification Preferred: ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Skills and Abilities Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Ability to read and comprehend written instructions; proficiency in PC skills Physical, Interpersonal, Technical, Mental, and Sensory Requirements Physical: Ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal: Ability to work effectively with diverse personnel to maintain professionalism Technical/Motor: Ability to perform fine manipulation and operate department equipment Mental: Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle irregular schedules while maintaining attention to detail Sensory: Visual acuity and effective communication abilities Benefits Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with first-day coverage PTO after 1560 hours Life and short-term disability insurance 401(k) matching Aggressive refer-a-friend bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs Why Choose Fusion Fusion Medical Staffing aims to improve the lives of everyone we touch.
