Medical Office Check-In Specialist – Primary CareCoastal Health is seeking a friendly, professional, and dependable Check-In Specialist to join our Primary Care team. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with patients, have excellent customer service skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office environment.Position ResponsibilitiesGreet patients warmly and professionally upon arrivalCheck patients in and verify demographic, insurance, and contact informationVerify insurance eligibility and collect applicable copays, deductibles, and balancesObtain and update patient registration informationAnswer phones and assist patients with questions and requestsSchedule and confirm patient appointmentsCollect and accurately document necessary patient informationMaintain a welcoming and organized front desk/check-in areaCommunicate effectively with providers, medical assistants, and other office staffAssist with obtaining necessary forms and signaturesFollow HIPAA and Coastal Health policies and proceduresProvide excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentialityPerform other front-office duties as neededQualificationsPrevious medical office or healthcare front-desk experience preferredExperience with patient registration and insurance verification preferredStrong customer service and communication skillsProfessional and friendly demeanorAbility to multitask in a busy medical officeStrong attention to detail and accuracyReliable, dependable, and able to work well as part of a teamBasic computer skills and the ability to learn electronic medical record systemsKnowledge of athenahealth is a plusWhat We’re Looking ForWe are looking for someone who is patient-focused, dependable, positive, and compassionate.
