Senior Commodity Manager

Location: Livermore, CA (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote) Pay Rate: Up to $91.14/hour Duration: 12-Month Contract with possible extensions or C2H Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Strategic Commodity Manager to lead sourcing strategies, supplier management initiatives, and commodity planning within a global manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for developing long-term commodity strategies, driving supplier performance, leading commercial negotiations, and partnering with cross‑functional teams to support business growth, cost optimization, and supply continuity. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, ERP systems, and global supply chain operations. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute long-term commodity sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives. Manage supplier selection, qualification, performance, and development initiatives. Lead commercial negotiations involving pricing, contracts, lead times, quality, and supply agreements. Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers and internal stakeholders. Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity. Support supplier capacity planning and long‑term investment initiatives. Analyze supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement efforts. Collaborate with engineering, operations, manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams on sourcing initiatives. Utilize ERP systems and data analysis tools to support sourcing decisions and reporting. Present sourcing strategies, supplier performance, and business updates to leadership. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, procurement, or supply chain. Experience developing and executing commodity strategies within a manufacturing environment. Strong supplier negotiation and contract management experience. Experience working with global suppliers and cross‑functional teams. Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP. Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities. Preferred Qualifications MBA or advanced degree is a plus. Experience supporting high‑tech, electronics, semiconductor, industrial, or capital equipment manufacturing environments. Knowledge of supplier capacity planning, cost modeling, and supply chain risk management. Experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives in a matrix organization.
