The Vice President of Finance will be a key contributor in the accounting, financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and operational/strategic analysis functions of the company. • Retirement planWhat You Will Be DoingSpecific Duties

Accounting and Financial Reporting

• Responsible for timely completion of the monthly closing process
• Prepare/review balance sheet account reconciliations
• Ensure the company has appropriate policies, procedures, internal controls, segregation of duties, and systems in place in accordance with generally accepted accounting procedures
• Prepare monthly internal financial reporting and variance analysis, identifying trends, concerns and opportunities
• Prepare quarterly bank financial reporting packages, including covenants compliance and MD&A
• Coordinate with external auditors for preparation of the annual audited financial statements
• Assist CFO and Controller with cash management duties, as needed
• Assist CFO with company tax compliance and banking relationships
• Recommend ways to streamline processes for all internal financial reporting systems
• Use/develop dynamic financial reporting tools to increase accuracy and improve efficiency
• Budgeting, Forecasting, and Strategic Analysis
• Responsible for annual budget process and prepare monthly forecasting updates
• Responsible for enhancing the companys long-term planning model and maintaining ongoing updates
• Assist with future real estate acquisition financial modeling
• Provide ad-hoc reporting upon request from the companys current and future banking relationships
• Provide internal ad-hoc reporting for all company lines of business
• Provide analytical support on various special projects to enhance the financial decision-making process
• Prepare benchmarking analysis and reports to assist in strategy development
• Assist with financial analysis and presentations for internal and external meetingsWhat You Need for this PositionQualifications

Education/Experience

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting
• 5+ years in a senior accounting role
• CPA preferred
• Real estate industry experience a plus
• Strong Excel skills required

Language Ability Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Math Ability Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software and accounting software. Must be highly proficient in MS Excel.
