Clinical Pharmacist

Work Schedule 0630 - 1930; Weekends 0700 - 1700 Job Summary We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. As a pharmacist you would provide clinical pharmacy services for all patients and ensure the safe procurement, preparation, labeling, distribution and control of all medications. Responsibilities Coordinate and assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical pharmacy programs to ensure clinical services meet the requirements and needs of the patient population and community. Provide clinical pharmacy support and execute clinical pharmacy programs for all patient areas. Review medication orders and quality of technicians’ work to ensure appropriateness of drugs ordered, dosage, route and interactions. Adjust medication dosage/schedule as appropriate for patient condition as per policy. Ensure medications are safely dispensed to patients in accordance with age. Closely monitor narcotic transactions by checking all controlled substances that are dispensed and reconciling the quantity/type of narcotics leaving the pharmacy. Assist the department in addressing physician consults as needed; provide timely retrieval of reliable drug information from available sources. Communicate effectively and work with physicians and/or other members of the interdisciplinary team in meeting patient needs. Qualifications Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy. Experience as a pharmacist in an acute‑care hospital setting or general pharmacy practice residency preferred. Current Florida pharmacist license or license eligibility. Eligibility to sit for the North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX). Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and possess PC skills.
