Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Observation

About This Role
The Med/Surg Observation Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment focused on short-stay evaluation and acute medical needs. This role is ideal for RNs who are dedicated to delivering excellent clinical and operational outcomes.

- Schedule: Part-time, Rotating
- Sign-On Bonus: Up to $25,000 for eligible candidates
What You'll Do
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
- Administer medications safely according to United Health Services policy.
- Share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization.
- Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies.
- Participate in and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model.
- Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements.
- Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education:
- A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience:
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting preferred
- Licenses & Certifications:
- Current NYS RN License
- Professional certification in a related nursing specialty preferred
- Relevant skills certification (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned
