We’re Hiring: National High School Lacrosse Writer

High School On SI, part of the Sports Illustrated family, is looking for a National High School Lacrosse Writer to help lead our coverage of boys and girls lacrosse across the country.

We’re looking for someone who knows the national high school lacrosse landscape — not just one state or region. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of the programs, players and recruiting pipelines that shape the sport and can identify the teams and athletes our readers should know from coast to coast.

• Recruiting news and emerging prospects

• National Rankings

• Weekly previews of the biggest games around the country

• Recaps and takeaways from marquee matchups

• National storylines, trends and rankings-related coverage
\n
• Original story ideas that bring readers inside the high school lacrosse world
\n

We want someone who can recognize a major story before everyone else is writing about it — and who understands that compelling coverage goes well beyond scores and rankings.

Strong reporting and writing skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently, develop sources and consistently identify stories with national appeal.

This is a remote freelance position with High School On SI.

Qualifications

• 3 years of of professional sports writing experience
\n
• Demonstrated knowledge of high school lacrosse
\n
• Ability to work independently and produce quality work on a timely basis
\n
