Traveling Technician (50-60 Hours/Week) Have you lead other Technicians before? 2 years experience? If you thrive in the fast-paced environment of 500k sq. ft. distribution centers and don’t mind the travel, this is the role for you. We’re looking for a hard-working Technician to coordinate daily tasks with the Foreman, operate 40ft lifts, and keep our installations on track. Medical, Dental, Prescription & Vision Benefits Life, AD&D, and LTD insurance Paid Vacation and Holidays MD Live, TriaHealth, Legal Shield Company-Matched 401(k) and IRA Retirement Savings Qualifications: 2-5 years of low-voltage or data cabling experience Strong Cat6 and fiber termination and testing skills Experience with paging, wireless/AP cabling, CCTV, and access control cabling Ability to read prints and work with minimal supervision Comfortable working at height and in large warehouse environments Ability to work independently or support small crews Proficient with smartphones, email, and basic spreadsheets Basic telecommunications tools, PPE, and reliable transportation Valid driver’s license with clean driving record Willingness to travel extensively and work 50-60 hour weeks Key Responsibilities May Include: Install, terminate, and test Cat6 and fiber (single-mode and multi-mode) cabling Perform paging, wireless/AP cabling, CCTV, and access control cabling Lead and support small crews of 2-4 technicians as a working lead when assigned Build and dress MDFs, IDFs, racks, patch panels, and cable management Install cable pathways including J-hooks, ladder rack, innerduct, and tray Operate boom and scissor lifts (40 ft work) Troubleshoot cabling and system issues Ensure cables are neatly dressed, labeled, and installed per standards Provide daily progress updates to the Lead or Foreman Follow all safety, quality, and site requirements About: Wachter is a family-owned company since 1930 and we see each employee as a critical piece of the Wachter Family.
