Description

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist for an 18-week hospital assignment requiring 2 years of experience in cardiovascular, thoracic, and transplant surgical procedures.

Details

• CVOR unit specializing in cardiovascular, thoracic, transplant, and robotics (thoracic preferred) procedures
• Day shift, 3x12 hour schedule from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend rotation includes Friday through Sunday
• Call requirements to be discussed during interview
• May float within facility scope of practice and to Main OR as needed
• 1:1 patient ratio

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Experience with vascular procedures including AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, EVAR, femoral popliteal bypass graft, and TEVAR preferred
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures including CABG, EVAR, mitral valve replacement, TAVR, and VAD required
• Atherectomy and cardiomyoplasty experience preferred
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization/disinfection
• Robotics experience, particularly cardiothoracic robotic surgery, preferred
• Endoscopic procedure experience including bronchoscopy and colonoscopy; EGD and laparoscopic assisted cases preferred
• Experience with care of scopes, fiber optic equipment, case carts, and crash carts
• Airway management skills required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Perform surgical technologist duties supporting cardiovascular, thoracic, and transplant surgical teams
• Assist with heart, lung resection/thoracotomy, and VATS procedures
• Handle sterile processing responsibilities including flexible endoscope reprocessing
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required: if one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, both must be worked with no holiday RTO available; if three major holidays occur, one holiday RTO request may be considered
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Full compliance required to start on time, as delays may result in a two-week push back due to biweekly orientation scheduling
• Prior Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
