Registered Nurse - Wound CareCedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC's), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse - Wound Care (Full Time). The Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with acute and chronic wounds. This role serves as a clinical expert and consultant in wound, ostomy, and continence care, promoting evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes. The Wound Care RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal healing, prevent complications, and support regulatory compliance and quality initiatives.Job Duties:Perform comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized care plansProvide direct care for complex wounds, including pressure injuries, surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, and ostomiesImplement and monitor evidence-based wound care treatments and interventionsServe as a clinical resource and consultant to nursing staff and providers on wound care managementEducate patients, families, and staff on wound prevention, treatment, and skin integrity maintenanceMonitor and track wound healing progress; adjust care plans as neededLead and support hospital-wide initiatives for pressure injury prevention and skin careEnsure compliance with regulatory standards, including documentation and reporting requirementsParticipate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with physicians, dietitians, physical therapists, and case managementAssist with product evaluation and selection of wound care supplies and equipmentConduct audits, collect data, and support quality improvement initiatives related to wound care outcomesProvide staff education and competency validation related to wound care practicesQualifications Requirements:Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferredDC RN License requiredMinimum 2–3 years of acute care nursing experienceExperience in wound care, med-surg, or critical care preferredBLS certification requiredWound Care Certification (WCC, CWON, or WOCN) requiredEEO Statement All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
