Supplier Quality Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in Oldsmar, FL for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Supplier Quality Engineer will address quality concerns involving supplied parts and materials, evaluate technical requirements, disposition nonconformances, and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, suppliers, and program teams. Opportunities are available for both entry-level candidates and experienced quality professionals.

Required Skills
• Entry-level path: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline with 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Experienced path: Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to evaluate product requirements, specifications, engineering drawings, models, designs, and procedures.
• Ability to respond to quality concerns involving supplied parts and materials.
• Experience or knowledge of nonconformance documentation and disposition.
• Understanding of manufacturing requirements and quality-engineering principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, suppliers, and program teams.
• Ability to analyze quality issues and support corrective actions.

Preferred Skills
• Supplier Quality or Quality Engineering experience.
• AS9100 or ISO 9001 Quality Management System knowledge.
• AS9102 first article inspection or APQP experience.
• Root-cause analysis and corrective or preventive action experience.
• GD&T knowledge.
• Machining and manufacturing-process experience.
• Tableau or other data-visualization experience.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC/WHMA-A-620.
• Experience with circuit card assemblies, cable assemblies, or box-level electronic components.
• Lean Six Sigma, CQE, CSQP, or CMQ/OE certification.
• Supplier risk analysis, readiness review, or return-to-green planning experience.

What You'll Do
• Respond to production-floor quality concerns involving supplied materials and components.
• Ensure defects and nonconformances are accurately documented.
• Evaluate drawings, specifications, models, procedures, and product requirements.
• Collaborate with supplier-quality representatives to analyze and disposition nonconforming material.
• Participate in product-failure investigations and material review activities.
• Support root-cause investigations and corrective or preventive actions.
• Evaluate supplier and internal quality systems for deficiencies.
• Support supplier selection, certification, oversight, and performance improvement.
• Verify special processes and monitor supplier corrective-action plans.
• Design or analyze inspection and testing processes.
• Use quality data, Tableau dashboards, and predictive analytics to identify trends.
• Support onsite supplier activities and efficient defect resolution.

Pay
• Entry-level positions: $32.00-$37.00 per hour.
• Experienced positions: $43.00-$50.00 per hour.
