Quality Assurance Engineer

We have an outstanding Contract position for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Oldsmar, FL  surrounding area.

Job Responsibilities:

• Apply quality principles in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products.
• Perform technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings andprocedures.
• Collaborate with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain andcustomers on quality-related issues to ensure quality standards are in place.
• Engage in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action.
• Ensure corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements.
• Develop strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity.
• Evaluate quality systems for deficiencyidentification and correction.
• Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms andequipment; conduct product quality tests, perform statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
• Engage in the supplier selection process and certification programs.
• Leverage Tableau dashboards and predictive analytics to monitor production metrics and identify trends for actionable next steps.
• Responsible for supplier evaluation, verification of special processes, supplier oversight – including development and execution of return-to-green plans.

Basic Hiring Criteria:   

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline and 5 years of related experience.
• Knowledgeable in surveillance of AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality Management Systems and experience with AS9102 first article inspections or APQP
• Technical experience with mechanical and/or electrical products, including manufacturing processes, interpretation of technical drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and military and industry specifications.
• Experience with Supplier Quality and/or Quality Engineering principles, including nonconformance dispositions, failure analysis, and driving systemic root cause and corrective action utilizing quantitative and qualitative analytical methods.
• Understanding of basic manufacturing requirements and quality engineering systems.
• Strong communication skills – adept at collaborating across sites and program teams.

Desired Qualifications: 

• Experience supporting supplier selection, contract reviews, readiness reviews andperforming risk analyses.
• Experience and familiarity with machining and manufacturing practices.
• Tableau and other data visualization platforms for quality tracking.
• Certifications like Lean Six Sigma orequivalent problem-solving methods or CQE, CSQP orCMQ/OE certification.
• Experience with commodities such as CCAs, cabling assemblies, and box-level components.
