Description

The Loadmaster Instructor is responsible for the accomplishment of ground-based training of foreign based C-17 loadmasters, including instructing and measuring training progress of foreign crew members who train in the established aircrew training curriculum. Potential candidates shall be proficient in evaluating, diagnosing, and critiquing student performance. Candidates should further be able to identify student learning difficulties and recognize objectives not accomplished and able to prescribe/conduct remediation instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provides C-17 Loadmaster procedures instruction in aircraft, classroom, and Weapon System Trainer (WST) simulator or other platform environments. 
• Provides Crew Resource Management (CRM) training. 
• Assists as a Subject Matter Expert in the development of curriculum for new type courses as required. 
• Acts as a Lesson Subject Matter Expert to review existing lessons and/or changes to existing lessons. 
• Provides suggestions to improve and update training policies and procedures. 
• Promotes a positive attitude towards learning and embracing new technologies and tasks. 
• Conducts ground training for other crew members to include diagnosis and remediation of student issues. 
• Assists in project and development work as assigned. 
• Performs administrative duties such as scheduling, record keeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, quality assurance, safety, security, and maintenance of training programs and equipment. 
• Must be physically able to enter simulator, experience simulator motion and take cognizance of attendees’ safety when on board the simulator. 
• Must be able to stand up and conduct academic instruction in simulators and classrooms for up to six hours each day. 
• Must maintain proficiency in operation of essential C-17 WST Aircrew Training Devices. 
• Aviation instruction is a highly specialized function that requires the instructor to have prior aircraft operating experience and the ability to hold creditability and the attention of the customer attendees. 
• Strong facilitation, and data analysis skills required 
• Maintains a high level of subject knowledge, instruction capability, and expertise. 
• Conducts briefings and debriefings and counsels with loadmasters for the purpose of developing and maintaining a high level of proficiency. 
• Performs administrative duties relative to training such as record keeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, training development and maintenance of training programs. 
• Provides inputs for courseware corrections and modifications and to update training policies and procedures. 
• Other duties as identified and assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Potential candidates shall have been previously qualified as a C-17 Loadmaster Instructor and/or Evaluator and be a graduate of a formal instructor course.

• Completion of a formal Instructor training course.
• A.S. or A.A. degree or higher is desired.
• Former C-17 operational crewmember experience.
• Formal AF Initial Qualification Instructional experience is highly desired.
• International assignment experience preferred.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Security Responsibilities

• Eligible and obtain (if required) a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
• Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures. 
• May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Employee shall not divulge any information, or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know authorization. Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval. Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information. 

Language Skills

Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.   Will be required to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.  Must be able to generate effective oral and written presentations and proposals on complex subjects.

Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills 

Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and amounts, prices, commissions, and percentages, and draw and interpret graphs. Skilled in C-17 Weight & Balance procedures.

• Work in a regular office environment; communicate via personal computer, telephone and fax.
• Will be working in areas with risk of electrical shock and from moving mechanical parts driven by hydraulics under high pressure.

• Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpit.

• Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment
