Step into an impactful educational setting supporting students and teachers as a highly-qualified paraprofessional. Multiple contract opportunities are available, each playing an essential role in the daily lives of elementary school learners.
Key Details:
- Full-time, contract roles through early December, with the strong potential for conversion to a permanent role after the contract period.
- All positions are Monday through Friday, 32.5 hours per week, at Wilson Elementary.
- Varied caseloads: one center-based opening and two resource positions (Settings 1 & 2), engaging with different student groups throughout the school day.
- Setting 1 & 2 roles involve supporting one grade level in the morning and another in the afternoon.
- Cheerful flexibility and readiness to assist with all student needs, including toileting support, is essential.
Qualifications:
- Must be highly-qualified under Minnesota standards by either:
- Passing the MN Para Educator Exam (attach official passing score).
- OR completing at least 60 college credits (attach official transcripts). Diplomas or degree photos will not be accepted.
- A current resume is required for consideration.
- Genuine passion for helping children succeed, fostering supportive learning environments, and collaborating with teachers and support staff.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, either in schools or similar settings, is highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers and specialists in providing individualized academic or behavioral support.
- Foster positive interactions and a respectful classroom climate.
- Help with supervision during transitions, specials, and lunch/recess as assigned.
- Provide personal care and hygiene support as needed, maintaining dignity and care for all students.
- Support the implementation of learning activities and modifications per teacher guidance.
