Home health aides typically start a shift by reviewing the client’s care plan from the care team or supervising nurse when one is assigned, then move through morning hygiene, breakfast, medication reminders, and any exercise or movement routines the care plan calls for. Afternoons often involve light housekeeping, meal prep, and a check-in on how the client is feeling. The role is hands-on and steady, with a strong focus on observation and documentation.
