Human Resources Assistant

Schedule: Part-Time (10-20 hours per week)The Part-Time HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team and thrives in a people-focused, service-oriented role. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys supporting others, building relationships, and helping employees navigate questions and processes. The HR Assistant will support filing, recruiting and onboarding activities, HR projects, employee inquiries, compliance reporting, and HRIS (Paylocity) administration, while contributing to a positive and supportive employee experience.Key ResponsibilitiesScan, sort, organize, and properly dispose of employee files in accordance with record retention guidelinesReview and clean up older personnel files to ensure documents are accurately categorizedSupport recruiting and onboarding by posting jobs, screening candidates, coordinating background checks, and assisting with orientationPartner with hiring managers to confirm job description updates and role requirementsAssist with HR projects and initiatives, including Open Enrollment and other large-scale programsRespond to basic employee questions related to HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook; escalate complex issues as neededSupport compliance reporting and documentation (e.g., EEO, OSHA, and other required filings)Provide HRIS (Paylocity) support, including maintaining position data, assisting with employee and manager transactions, supporting Open Enrollment setup, and documenting HR processesDevelop and maintain clear Paylocity guides and resources for people managersRequirementsHigh school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field preferred1-3 years of administrative, customer service, or HR-related experience preferredStrong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detailAbility to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalismComfortable learning and using HR systems; experience with Paylocity is a plusStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
