Network & Systems AdministratorThis is an on-site, in-person position based in Roxboro, NC. Remote work is not available for this role. The Network & Systems Administrator provides the highest level of tech support including, planning, deploying, troubleshooting and maintenance in all aspects of the infrastructure environment. The Network & Systems Administrator will be required to perform entry level to complex technical and administrative tasks.Essential DutiesEnsuring the security and efficiency of IT infrastructureMonitoring system performance, availability and troubleshooting issuesCollecting and analyzing data to forecast infrastructure system needs before issues ariseIdentifying issues and implementing plans for remediation before the issues negatively impact the businessPerforming Active Directory, VMware, SharePoint and Office 365 Administration tasksPerforming Software Updates (Windows and other 3rd party software)Installing and configuring software and hardware on physical and virtual systems.The ability to read and write instructions, see, hear, operate a computer, comprehend, and then carry out directives when instructedAbility to meet the physical and mental demands of the positionEvaluates, recommends, implements, and ensures systems securityConfigures, maintains and manages network security features for networked serversConfigures, monitors and maintains firewall to ensure network and systems integrityEnsures proper system backups are made and storedPrepares client, operations, and systems documentation according to pre-established standardsTraining and assist staff in the use of the system softwareSetup of user permissions, security classes, installing of patches.Available to work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, and to provide after-hours support when needed.The ability to work on-sitePredictable, reliable, and prompt attendanceOther duties as assignedAdditional DutiesConducts customization and system administration tasks for network management, task/project management, help desk phone and ticket management, workgroup integration, documentation, and educational software packages across local area networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs).Analyzes, recommends, and evaluates new hardware, software and communications products for network compatibility and applicabilityPerforms advanced diagnostics and maintenance on desktop devices when additional expertise is requiredKeeps current on new developments and techniques in the field of information technologyAssists IT management with development of systems standards, short and long-term goals, project management and strategic directionsAdditional duties as assigned by the Director of Network Operations.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesStudent workers assigned to NetworkingTypical QualificationsMinimum Qualifications Education and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in IT or related fieldAt least 3 years of experience in the Information Technology fieldor an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experienceLicenses and Certificates:Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure, Microsoft Configuring Windows Server Hybrid Advanced Services, and CompTIA Linux+ certifications must be obtained within six months of hire.Industry certifications that demonstrate proficiency with Enterprise I.T. Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.Working Conditions: Work is performed in a typical office environment.
