SUMMARY

Prepares Patients for imaging in both the X-Ray and mammography department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Performs radiographic proceduresas prescribed bya physician.
• Operates DR equipment.
• Determinesproper technique through theselectionof voltage, current, and exposure time.
• Positionspatients for the proper view of the affected area.
• Instructspatients astothe proper physiological requirements for the procedure.
• Acquirespatient medical history.
• Complies withinfection control procedures.
• Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both tothemselvesand to the patient.
• Communicate compassionately and accurately to the patient to explain what they are about to experience.
• Effective use of system applications to perform patient workflow.
• Housekeeping items including but not limited to laundry,stocking ofsupplies, etc.
• Attendance at meetings and training sessions may berequired. These sessions could occasionally be scheduled outside of your regular working hours to accommodate business needs and training opportunities. QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must hold a current ARRT certificate and be willing to obtain Mammography certification within 1 year. (Open to on-the-job training for registeredRTs).
• Must continue to obtain the recommendedamountof Continuing Educations Credits each year for your certifications.
• Continuing education in accordanceofthe ARRT, ACR, and State of Michigan.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
