Contract Details

- Contract Duration: 9 months (with possibility of extension)
- Start: July 13, 2026
- Pay Rate: $35.00–$40.00 / Hour (USD)
- Shift / Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; standard 37.5 hrs/week (possible overtime)

Job Summary
The client is seeking a Tax Analyst to fill a 9-month contract assignment supporting the U.S. Tax Operations team in functions related to U.S. Tax Information Reporting and Withholding (IRW). The Tax Analyst will perform the following functions under supervision of a U.S. Client Tax Operations manager. The successful candidate will be able to build their skills while working at a bank with a global footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily reconciliation of withholding tax and adjustment journals for Non-Resident Alien (NRA) Tax applied to the institutional client base using vendor applications in conjunction with Microsoft Excel
- Reconciliation of U.S. tax for quarter-monthly deposits to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
- Daily review, reconciliation, and resolution of cost basis breaks in a vendor system and Excel
- Conduct weekly meetings with our cost basis vendor to ensure ongoing breaks are completed in a timely manner
- Organize an agenda and host weekly U.S. Tax Operations team meetings with management to discuss the day-to-day as well as provide updates on the team's project work
- Assist in functions related to preparation and production of our client and IRS year-end tax filing submissions for IRS forms 1099 and 1042-S including preliminary forms testing, reconciliations, and production
- Update written procedures in accord with current processes
- Ensure report timeliness, completeness & accuracy of submission to defined management for approval
- Provide prompt and accurate response to internal queries regarding client tax slips and other tax related queries
- Contribute to the overall success of the U.S. Tax Operations team by finding efficiencies, developing processes, adhering to established controls and the risk mitigation framework
- Assist or lead other ad hoc projects and daily deliverables, as needed
Required Skills
- Familiarity with U.S. Tax IRW concepts including NRA withholding tax, FATCA tax, 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-MISC, 1099-B, 1099-NEC, 1042-S forms as they pertain to institutional investing and banking
- Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency (lookups and pivot tables to perform reconciliations on large data sets)
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills (review transactional data and action accordingly)
- Problem solver and passionate about delivering quality service
Preferred Skills
- Vendor Applications (client systems)
- Prior experience working at a big bank or financial institution
Education Requirements
- Degree or Diploma within Business Management, Finance, or related field
Required Experience
- 2 years of experience as an Operations Analyst or similar role
- 2 years of experience in tax reporting / filing process including cost-basis reporting
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. tax concepts
- Previous financial institution (FI) experience
- Enthusiasm, eagerness to learn and take ownership of role
- Ability to hit the ground running with minimal training — results-driven and focused on quality outcomes
