Residential Youth Worker – 2nd Shift (St. Joseph Children’s Home) Location: Louisville, KY. Benefits Pay: $18.00 per hour (plus $2.00 Shift Diff) Weekends are required $500 Retention Bonus ( $250 after 90 days and $250 after 6 months of satisfactory service ) Multiple Schedule Options Available Full benefits package including: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance 401K/403b Plan Short Term Disability Long Term Disability Paid Vacation Days Paid Sick/Personal Days Child Care Discount Responsibilities Provide a therapeutic milieu, ensuring fairness, objectivity, firmness, care, and concern in responding to clients' needs. Observe emotional and behavioral climate within the group and with each individual client and respond accordingly. Ensure the health and safety of clients in care. Contribute to clients’ treatment plans and goals; communicate with the treatment team promptly and accurately about progress and treatment needs. Supervise and assist residents in meeting daily treatment objectives and basic needs; teach basic life skills such as housekeeping, hygiene, personal appearance, and supervise activities including chores, studying, recreation, leisure, and bedtime routine. Document each client’s daily events and significant behaviors; maintain accurate written and verbal communication with coworkers to ensure consistent interventions. Administer medication as prescribed and maintain accurate medication logs; follow all medication policies and procedures. Manage crises competently; maintain certification in SCM and use skills as needed to ensure client safety. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Contribute to the physical upkeep of cottages by reporting needed repairs and maintaining cleanliness and order. Complete forty (40) clock hours of required staff development/training per St. Joseph Children’s Home policy and relevant regulations; sixteen (16) hours of which must be in Safe Crisis Management. Complete required training involving medication distribution. Qualifications High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. Experience preferred in providing appropriate care, winning respect, guiding development, managing a home, and participating in treatment program implementation. Certifications / Licenses Driver’s license with an insurable driving record required. Must become certified in Safe Crisis Management. Physical Factors Standing for up to eight (8) hours. Reaching above the shoulder level. Walking. Bending at the waist. Lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. Repetitive kneeling movements to and from the floor.
