Instructional Objectives – objectives reflect high‑level learning and curriculum standards, suitable for all students and addressing diverse needs. Knowledge of Resources, including Technology – implements available resources and seeks additional technology to enhance teacher skill and student performance. Assessment for Instruction – uses assessment results to plan instruction for the individual needs of students. The Classroom Environment Management of Instructional Groups – students in groups are productively engaged with minimal teacher support. Management of Transitions – transitions occur smoothly, with minimal loss of instructional time. Management of Materials and Supplies – routines for handling materials and supplies are efficient. Safety, Accessibility and Physical Space – the classroom is safe and resources are effectively utilized. Teacher Interaction with Students – interactions are friendly, respectful, and culturally responsive. Expectations – conduct standards are established and consistently enforced. Monitoring of Student Behavior – teacher is alert and responsive at all times. Response to Student Misbehavior – responses are appropriate and effective. Instruction – Teacher Effectiveness Quality of Questions – most questions are high quality and allow time for responses. Monitoring of Student Learning During Instruction – teacher monitors group and some individual progress. Student Assessment – students understand evaluation criteria and assess their own work. Feedback to Students – feedback is timely and consistently high quality. Responses to Students' Needs During Instruction – teacher adjusts lessons smoothly to accommodate student questions or interests. Persistence – teacher seeks approaches for students who struggle. Instruction – Student Engagement Expectations for Learning – lesson purpose and broader context are clear. Directions and Procedures – instructions are clear to students. Explanations of Content – explanations are appropriate, accurate, and connected to students' knowledge. Activities and Assignments – activities are appropriate and engaging for almost all students. Grouping of Students – instructional groups are productive and purposefully selected. Instructional Materials and Resources – materials are suitable and engaging. Structure and Pacing – the lesson has a defined structure with appropriate pacing. Professional Responsibilities and Personal Qualities Instructional Records – teaching records are accurate. Non‑instructional Records – non‑instructional records are accurate and effective. Communications with Families – teacher communicates regularly, effectively, and includes families in the program.
