Performance Responsibilities Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and Illinois State Standards. Prepare lesson plans and conduct daily classroom instruction appropriate to instructional level. Maintain a healthy learning environment for the students in the classroom. Organize the classroom and learning resources to create a positive learning environment. Observe and evaluate students to determine progress or make suggestions for improvement. Provide feedback to parents on a student’s progress at conferences and other meetings. Qualifications Letters of application. Recommendations and/or references. Experience working as a team member with middle‑school age children (preferred). Holder or eligibility for a valid Illinois Teaching Certificate (Type 03 or 09 with middle school science endorsement). Past experience teaching the specific class is preferred; if none, recent coursework or student teaching in the subject will be considered. Ability to speak a foreign language is preferred.
