HR Assistant

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for administrative or clerical tasks supporting various HR operations and other management activities. This role assists with coordination of all employee engagement activities, including recurring projects and special events. Responsibilities Perform day‑to‑day administrative tasks such as maintaining files and processing paperwork. Prepare HR documents, reports, letters and other materials using word processing, spreadsheet, database or presentation software. Process, verify, and maintain personnel‑related documents. Maintain record‑management systems, including updating the HRIS with employee data changes (ADP and Kronos Workforce Ready). Help with recruitment activities by conducting initial applicant screening, preparing new hire paperwork, and providing benefits information. Assist in coordinating employee engagement activities such as monthly Birthday Breakfast, quarterly Anniversary Luncheon, annual Padres ticket raffle, annual Holiday Luncheon, and community involvement opportunities. Assist employees with benefits information and required forms. Respond to general questions about company policies, procedures, open positions, etc. Handle confidential information and materials. Verify visitor information and issue visitor badges as needed. Occasionally conduct new employee orientation. Provide administrative support to management for various tasks and requests. Build and maintain relationships with peers across the company. Deliver exceptional internal customer service. Maintain regular attendance, appear for work on time, follow supervisor directions, interact well with co‑workers, comply with work rules and procedures, work safely, and accept constructive criticism. Recommend ways to refine and streamline HR processes to ensure accuracy and continuous improvement. Stay current with laws, regulations, procedures, trends, and best practices governing HR activities. Key Skills Knowledge of basic HR procedures. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Detail‑oriented. Problem‑solving and initiative skills. Clear verbal and written communication. Integrity. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. HR Certification preferred. Experience 2 years of job‑related experience preferred.
