CAD Designer

VSL Civil Cad TechnicianVSL Civil is currently recruiting for a CAD Technician to join our team. As a CAD Technician, you will be accountable for preparing complex drawings of structures and equipment systems.This role can be seated at any of our current branch locations which includes the following:Manassas, VAFort Worth, TXThe successful candidate will also be responsible for:Drafting project and mechanical system drawings derived from layouts and sketchesEstablishing and following technical specifications to prepare drawings and draft designsConsulting with engineers regarding model accuracy and coordinate with shop team for material deliveries to job-sitesDetermining material needs, performing necessary calculations, and tracking all material quantitiesCandidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for this position:3-7 years experience with AutoCAD, preferably structural concrete drawingsDemonstrated ability to read and understand structural drawingsStrong communication skills, able to correspond well with Engineers and ClientsAble to work in a fast paced, ever changing environmentCandidates who are proficient in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor, SolidWorks, BIM/Revit, and MS Office Suite may be given preferenceTravel nationally 5-10%Our ideal candidate is an innovative but decisive leader who can work effectively in a highly collaborative, team-based environment; has the ability to set goals and expectations and hold others accountable; can encourage and mentor others; is approachable, empathetic and outgoing; can quickly gain trust and respect; and is able to establish and maintain relationships.We anticipate pay for this role between $28-28/hour based off education, experience, and location.STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES/VSL is proud of a company culture that promotes 24/7 safety and quality.
