JOB INFORMATION
Recycling Program Manager positions plan and administer the City's comprehensive waste reduction and diversion programs; develop and propose new or expanded programs to be undertaken by the City to ensure that the City stays in compliance with all federal, state, and local recycling regulations and laws; and conduct feasibility analyses of such programs; establish priorities, policy, and work procedures for the waste reduction and recycling program. oversee the implementation of local ordinances such as the City's Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Program, City Mandatory Recycling Ordinances, and the Construction and Demolition Deposit Ordinance utilizing; education and outreach, technical assistance, and enforcement; make programmatic decisions; develop and monitor program budgets and grants; maintain oversight of waste reduction and recycling contracts; produce, evaluate, and manage program tracking systems and reports; act as a liaison with international, federal, state, and local agencies and recycling and waste management industry groups; represent the City at conferences and major recycling, waste reduction, and diversion events; monitor, propose, and respond to various state and federal legislation affecting the program; provide technical recycling, waste reduction, and diversion information and expertise to City staff, City Council members, the Mayor's Office, other political bodies, the business and military communities, and citizen groups; supervise, train, and evaluate subordinate staff; and perform other duties as assigned.
