Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day/Night Rotation Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of permanent experience in specialty applying for License: Must have permanent Ohio license or compact license in hand Certifications: AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: MUST HAVE 12 months permanent experience in specialty applying for. MUST HAVE permanent Ohio license or compact license in hand. Required certifications must be active and in hand at the time of submission. Description: This position is for a registered nurse in a step-down unit. The nurse may float to other units to care for the same patient population. Shifts may be variable to meet operational needs. Travelers must work at least every other holiday. The ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessments will be completed during orientation, with an acceptable score required. Travelers will receive two attempts to pass these assessments. Background checks will be reviewed and travelers with open cases will not be accepted. All other travelers, aside from nurses and CSTs, must be nicotine-free. A negative drug screen, including nicotine, is required within 12 months of start. Permanent staff cannot return for one year from their previous end date. Candidates may extend with the client for a period of 18 months, after which a 6-month break is required. Travel candidates who remain on a continuous contract for a minimum of one year are required to complete annual hands-on competency. Travel candidates returning on a contract in the subsequent calendar year must also complete this requirement. Modules are required and any additional time must be accounted for. Annual modules are billable for up to four hours; this only applies to travelers who have been on contract for a continuous year.
