Carpenter Position at Shady Grove Medical Center As a Carpenter you will: Regularly address damaged surfaces using sandpaper, wire brushes, or steel wool; remove old paint from surfaces using paint remover, scrapes, and wire brushes to prepare surfaces for painting Properly fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other filler(s), including sheetrock and plaster finish Paint surfaces using brushes, spray guns, or paint rollers Erect scaffolding or ladders; spread cloth or canvas over floors and furniture to protect them from splattered paint; wash walls as necessary Install vinyl base, wall protection, replace floor tiles, and complete similar work requests Perform preventative maintenance as assigned and document work within the CMMS Qualifications High school diploma or GED 2+ years of experience as painter/carpenter Valid US driver's license required Work Schedule Employment Type: Full-time Hours per Week: 40 hrs/week Typical Daily Schedule: predominantly 2nd shift, (2:30pm-10pm) flexibility is needed since work may be on any shift including weekends. Shift Type: Rotating Weekend Requirements: As needed, estimated at 1× a month if any.
