Those partnerships with key suppliers like Bosch, Garrett, Federal Mogul, Cummins, Stanadyne, Holset, BorgWarner, Delphi, Yanmar, Mitsubishi, Denso and others have been critical in honing our remanufacturing capabilities and expanding our parts offering to include new, no core options in fuel injectors and fuel pumps, diesel engine cylinder heads, blocks, crankshafts and connecting rods. M&D also stocks a complete assortment of turbos (new and remanufactured), inframe overhaul kits, filtration and aftertreatment parts including DPFs, DOCs, EGRs, sensors and other engine parts.

Our strong remanufacturing roots combined with our 41 branch locations, a nationwide outside sales team of 25 and our close OEM & Manufacturer partnerships make us unique in the industry no one understands diesel engine failure analysis and parts better than M&D. WE FUEL UPTIME.

The Counter Sales & Conversion Specialist supports company growth by managing sales opportunities, assisting walk-in customers, processing orders and estimates, and maintaining excellent customer relationships. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive attitude to help grow sales and improve customer satisfaction. Training and advancement opportunities are available within our sales team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist walk-in customers in product sales and will-call order pickups
• Release pending orders and follow up with customers to confirm needs
• Look up parts and provide pricing and availability quotes
• Maintain inventory displays
• Handle overflow phone calls to enhance customer service
• Support retention of key accounts and perform other duties as assigned
• Follow up on open estimates and convert them into sales opportunities
• Confirm and process customer quotes and orders
• Make outbound calls to prospective leads
• Use internal databases to look up parts, check availability, and suggest products/services
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date customer records and follow the company's sales processes
• Monitor and report lost sales to management
• Adhere to company policies and deliver excellent customer service

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with order management systems
• Bilingual a plus Spanish and English
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic math and typing skills
• Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screening
• Fosters good coworker citizenship and contributes to a positive work environment

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Retail and office environment
• Warehouse environment that can include exposure to loud noises, dirt, and dust
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer and telephone
• Prolonged periods of standing
• Ability to repeat motions
• Ability to sit, stand, kneel, or bend
• Ability to reach at, above, or below shoulder level.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs regularly, with occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
