The right person will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience with financial reporting, audit preparation, process improvement, and the financial infrastructure required to support a company preparing for significant growth.If you're a strong accountant who enjoys being a go-to resource, solving problems, improving processes, and working with a team that keeps things relatively low-key and down-to-earth, this could be a great fit.Staff Accountant Responsibilities:You'll play a key role in keeping the accounting operation running smoothly, with responsibilities including:Own the month-end close, with a goal of completing close within approximately 5 business days.Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.Perform daily cash reconciliations.Support the accounting team with questions and problem-solving.Serve as a resource to AP, AR, and Payroll.Post payroll-related accounting entries.Help monitor job-cost margins and identify areas where spending may be getting off track.Assist with audit preparation and the development of processes needed to support future growth.Identify opportunities to make accounting processes more efficient and streamlined.Work with Sage Intacct, Industry Specific Software, and Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.You won't have direct reports, but you'll be someone others turn to when they need an accounting answer.Why the Staff Accountant role is different:You won't be walking into a stagnant accounting department.Our client is actively building its infrastructure for the future. We're looking for someone confident enough to speak up, ask questions, and hold their ground while still being a collaborative teammate.What we're looking for in the Staff Accountant:Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.Strong understanding of GAAP.Solid foundation in general accounting.Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.Strong Excel skills; PivotTables and VLOOKUPs are important.Comfortable working across multiple accounting functions and helping teammates.Someone who takes ownership and doesn't need to be micromanaged.A confident communicator who is comfortable being a resource for others.CPA candidates are welcome, and they can provide support for someone pursuing their CPA.Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to grow with the company and take on increasing responsibility as the organization evolves.Staff Accountant Opportunity:If you're looking for a Staff Accountant role where you can see the bigger picture, work closely with leadership, influence processes, and build experience that can position you for the company's next stage of growth, we'd like to meet you.
