Masters of Social Work Extended Program Practicum Liaison (Temporary) Job no: 559282 Work type: Instructional Faculty - Temporary/Lecturer Location: East Bay Duties of the Position Work with agency supervisors to maintain and develop practicum placements within the social work community. Manage and supervise students conducting practicum work for all MSW students. Coordinate and integrate practicum education for the Extended MSW program, ensuring compliance with the Council on Social Work Education’s standards. Develop and implement a continuous, comprehensive practicum education program evaluation plan. Recruit qualified agencies for student placements. Jointly administer practicum-related issues with coordinators of funding programs such as the Title IV-E and CalSWEC II grants. Assist with the maintenance of files on practicum agency agreements and letters of understanding. Participate, when necessary, in the resolution of problems occurring in placements. Update and maintain the program practicum manual. Develop and update practicum seminar syllabi. Plan and implement training seminars for agency practicum instructors. Attend faculty meetings and other relevant departmental or university meetings. Interface with the social service community and surrounding universities to maintain and build the practicum education program. Faculty may also be expected to teach in-person, hybrid, and/or fully online courses as per the university’s teaching requirements. Qualifications Hold a Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE accredited institution. Have at least two years of full‑time post‑master’s social work experience. Demonstrate experience in teaching, mentoring, and community service that has prepared them to contribute to the university’s commitment to diversity and excellence. The full‑time 12‑month lecturer salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Position appointment is subject to budgetary authorization. This position is grant‑based, from the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI), Social Work Education Capacity Expansion (SWECE) program, funding to permanently expand an existing MSW program. Grant dates are 1/27/2023 - 6/30/2027 with a total award of $2.4M. This is a temporary, full‑time, grant‑funded position through June 30, 2027, with the possibility of reappointment or extension. California State University, East Bay hires only individuals lawfully authorized to work in the United States. All offers of employment are contingent upon presentation of documents demonstrating the appointee’s identity and eligibility to work in accordance with provisions of the Immigration Reform and Control Act. A background check (including a criminal records check and prior employment verification) must be completed and cleared prior to the start of employment. The policy and expectation of the California State University is that all faculty members will perform all of their duties within the state of California. Satisfactory completion of a background check that may include, but is not limited to: criminal records check, verification of academic credentials, licenses, certificates, credit history, professional references and/or verification of work history is required for employment. Cal State East Bay will issue a conditional offer of employment to the selected candidate, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Unsatisfactory results may also affect the continued employment of current Cal State East Bay employees who were conditionally offered the position. All background checks are conducted through the university's third party vendor, Accurate. Education Code 89521 Requirements: Applicants will be required to disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended.
