CNC Machinist Afternoon Shift 4-Day Workweek

TOPS Staffing is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company to hire experienced CNC Machinists for multiple afternoon shift openings. This is a great opportunity for machinists who are confident running mills or lathes (or both) and enjoy working in a high-mix, mid-volume environment where setups change throughout the day.

Position: CNC Machinist (Mill or Lathe)

Shift: Afternoon, 3:00 PM 1:30 AM

Schedule: MondayThursday (4 x 10s)

Overtime: Fridays as needed (OT regularly available)

Pay: Up to $35.00/hr, based on experience

Bonus: Eligible for annual bonus which can exceed $8,000

Position Overview

Machinists in this role are assigned to one primary CNC machine and are responsible for running all parts scheduled on that machine. This shop produces a wide variety of parts, so new setups are common (13 per shift). You'll be hands-on with setups, adjustments, and quality checks, but full programming is not required.

What You'll Be Doing

• Set up and operate CNC mills or lathes (multi-axis equipment)
• Run a variety of parts with frequent changeovers
• Pull correct material and prepare jobs for production
• Determine proper workholding (fixtures, vises, clamps, etc.)
• Load programs at the machine using the HMI
• Change tooling and set tool offsets
• Zero out machines and verify setup before running
• Check feeds, speeds, tooling, and coolant flow
• Inspect parts during production using calipers and measuring tools
• Make minor edits or adjustments as needed to keep parts in spec
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
