Site Safety Technician
Canton, MS

Join Peak, a leading company in the construction industry, as a Site Safety Technician. This role will be based in Canton MS area and is a year long project.
Excellent opportunity for an OSHA 30 candidate who is looking to build their experience and resume in the safety profession.
40 - 50 hours per week for approximately one year+
Local to the Canton area is preferred with per diem available on case by case basis.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
  • Some experience with concrete as a trade or in a Safety role.
  • Commercial construction safety experience required.
  • OSHA 30 minimum required with FirstAid, CPR, AED certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans for concrete pours
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of the jobsite, focusing on a concrete environment.
  • Background in concrete, either safety or by trade
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety training, and pre-task planning sessions with crews.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with safety managers, project managers, and superintendents/foremen to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain safety documentation, including inspections, training records, and incident reports.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies on safety-related matters.
  • Act as the on-site champion of safety culture, ensuring every worker goes home safely.
Qualifications:
  • 2 - 3 years of construction safety experience, with at least 1 year in a concrete environment (this can be in a trade or a safety role).
  • familiarity with 29 CFR Part 1926, specifically in Subpart Q
  • OSHA 30 Construction (minimum).
  • Strong knowledge of site safety.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills for engaging with crews and management.
  • Ability to recognize hazards and implement corrective actions quickly.
  • First Aid/CPR and AED certification required.
