Production Manager

As a Maintenance Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily landscape maintenance and installation operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to company standards. This role manages field crews, coordinates resources, and drives productivity across assigned properties or projects. The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader with hands‑on landscaping experience, excellent organizational skills, and a focus on quality, efficiency, and team development. Responsibilities Manage daily production activities for landscaping maintenance and/or installation crews Plan, schedule, and assign crews, equipment, and materials to meet operational goals Supervise, train, and develop crew leaders and field personnel Monitor productivity, labor efficiency, and job performance to ensure quality standards are met Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure work meets contract specifications and safety requirements Address operational issues, client concerns, and service adjustments in a timely manner Coordinate with account management, fleet, and purchasing teams to support field operations Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and best practices Assist with onboarding, performance reviews, and corrective action as needed Build strong relationships with internal and external clients Manage all logistical aspects of production management, including team, equipment, and materials Monitor and troubleshoot a variety of landscape items, including pest control, irrigation, and plant material Ensure time‑keeping records are submitted accurately and promptly Counsel and develop members within the production team Provide hands‑on training for new and tenured team members to set them up for success Interview, select, and onboard new team members, ensuring an excellent onboarding experience Perform other tasks as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred 5+ years of experience in landscaping operations, with supervisory or management responsibility Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices, equipment, and materials Proven ability to manage crews, schedules, and field productivity Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills Ability to work in a fast‑paced outdoor environment and lift or operate equipment as needed Minimum 2 years of crew management experience Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite Valid Florida Driver’s License and the ability to pass an MVR check Preferred Skills & Experience Experience managing large crews or multiple routes within a commercial landscaping company Knowledge of irrigation systems, turf care, pruning practices, and seasonal landscape programs Familiarity with budget tracking, labor cost control, and productivity metrics Experience using scheduling, routing, or workforce management software Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to make real‑time operational decisions Benefits Medical, Dental and Vision insurance Ancillary insurance benefits 401k with employer match Paid time off Paid holidays Weekly pay Ongoing training Equality Statement Down to Earth is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
