GENERAL ACCOUNTANT

Accounting AssistantWork with the accounting group to prepare and distribute various financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist accounting department in meeting its daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilitiesPerform regular A/R postings and process customer paymentsPrepare monthly A/R reconciliation workpapers and provide customers statements upon requestProvide weekly A/R aging analysisSupport weekly payroll preparation and provide coverage when necessary.Answer and direct phone calls when necessary.Assist in month-end financial statement preparation and distribution including posting journal entries and preparing various financial reporting schedulesAssist facilities with customer debt collectionsAssist with preparation of quarterly fuel tax returns and annual income tax returnsManage vendor credit info requestsPrepare account reconciliations both monthly and semi-annuallySupport weekly payroll preparation and provide coverage when necessary.Assist in other special projects as neededMaintain customer and vendor filesAssist in annual 1099 issuancesComplete other tasks as assigned by managementQualifications and EducationTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) of Accounting from four-year college or university; one to two years accounting related work experience is beneficial but not required.Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
