Description:
Unit consists of 7 suites.
Average number of cases per day is 18-20.
Charge Nurse is present.
OR techs are available.
Weekend requirement for RNs is not applicable.
Weekend requirement for CSTs is not applicable.
Call requirement for RNs includes some nights and weekends, with 1 weeknight per week and 2, 12-hour weekend call shifts per month.
Call requirement for CSTs includes some nights and weekends, with 1 weeknight per week and 2, 12-hour weekend call shifts per month.
Call response time is 30 minutes.
Holiday work may be required.
Scrub color is provided.
Telemonitoring equipment is Phillips.
Vents are available.
Surgeon on call is available 24/7.
IV Team availability is not applicable.
Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7.
Pharmacy is available 24/7.
Shifts are variable, including 8s or 10s.
Floating may occur, limited to pre and post-operative areas only.
Floor-specific orientation is required.
Common types of cases include laparoscopic procedures, bariatrics, orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, gynecology, and ENT.
Scrubbing is not required for RNs but is preferred.
Sterile Processing certification is required, either IAHCSMM or CBSPD.
Equipment used includes Steris and Sterrad.
Duties include assembly of sets and decontamination tasks.
Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during the 13-week assignment, and 3 shifts for assignments that are shorter than 13 weeks.
Charting system used is Cerner.
A BSN is not required.
Trauma level is applicable to the care setting.
Division includes allied health professionals.
