Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking California-licensed Physician Assistants for a neuro-focused inpatient and outpatient neurosurgery care opportunity in San Francisco, California. This full-time role involves managing high-acuity transfers, brain tumors, and post-op patients within a hospital environment utilizing Epic EMR, with options to extend or transition to perm.

Opportunity Details

• Location: San Francisco, California
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
• Setting: Hospital with inpatient and outpatient services
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Contract Length: 26 weeks, with options to extend or transition to perm
• Coverage: Full-time, 5x8 shifts, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Patient census varies from 8 to 20 patients daily, primarily adult neurosurgery cases
• Work involves high-acuity transfers, tumor management, case management, and ordering imaging and scans
• Special procedures: Pulling EVD drains (training available, not required initially)

Clinical Scope

• Managing adult neurosurgery patients in inpatient neuro ICU and outpatient post-op settings
• Involvement in case management, imaging, and scans
• Performing special procedures such as pulling EVD drains (training available)
• Managing patients with brain tumors, meningioma, and transfer patients

Requirements

• CA state license required
• CA DEA registration (Schedule 2/2N) required
• BLS certification required
• Master's degree in physician assistant studies
• 1-2 years of experience in neurosurgery or complex surgical floors; neuro ICU experience considered
• Certifications: ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC (if NP)
