Brand Ambassador

Overview Category Student What is this position? This position is only open to current Pacific University students. Very flexible position that aligns with the academic calendar (e.g. all university holidays are off) Supervised by Morgan Knapp, Assistant Director of Civic Engagement & Experiential Learning Program Overview The McCall Center for Civic Engagement (MCCE) is hiring multiple Pacific Votes Student Ambassadors. This is a one year position encompassing the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters, with the possibility of extension into future years & elections Student Ambassadors are an integral part of the Pacific Votes program, playing a key role in helping their fellow students register, cast ballots, and engage in dialogue around democracy and youth voting rights. We are looking for students who are passionate about nonpartisan voter engagement, excited for the chance to learn about and implement best-practices for reaching eligible student voters, and ready to dive into planning events and communications that will ensure all Boxers have the resources they need to make their voices heard in the 2026 elections. The athletics liaison will be specifically tasked with reaching Pacific athletes to ensure they receive the full benefits of the Pacific Votes program. Pacific Votes Student Ambassadors work within the McCall Center for Civic Engagement under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Civic Engagement & Experiential Learning. Duties & responsibilities Engage in deep learning about the policies and procedures governing student voting in the State of Oregon and current youth voting issues/concerns nationwide Engage in deep learning about best-practices for reaching eligible youth voters and the many resources available through national partners for use on our campuses Collaborate and partner with the Pacific Votes Workgroup, student organizations, and community partners to co-create voter engagement efforts in four stages (registration, education, turnout, and post‑election support) Design and implement events and outreach campaigns aimed at the entire Pacific community and/or specific student groups Contribute to Action Plan and End of Year report writing. Provide your own insight and conversation with peers to ensure the Pacific Votes programming is responsive to thespecific needs of our studentbody Expectations of the position 4-6/hrs per week commitment for paid student employment in the McCall Center for Civic Engagement during the Fall2026 and Spring2027semesters Attendance at weekly staff meetings (Tuesdays from 11:30am-12:30pm) and Pacific Votes Workgroup meetings (details TBD) Attendance at committee meetings, staff retreat(s), and staff gatherings At least one individual meeting with supervisor each month to discuss Pacific Votes work, professional development, and academic connections Work as scheduled and maintain strong communication with supervisor regarding schedule variations and necessary absences Submit time cards accurately, completely, and on time Who should apply? Required Qualifications Demonstrated commitment to civic and democratic engagement through past volunteering, coursework, student government, or other activities Highly motivated to act as a nonpartisan and inclusive resource for peers Interested in working with diverse student groups and community partners, including those with personal identities, perspective, and politics that differ from your own Willing to engage in civil discussion around controversial issues in our democracy, and actively participate in personal and team efforts to make our own communitymore sustainable, equitable, and just Able to act as a representative of the McCall Center and Pacific University with self-awareness and diplomac Desired Qualifications Interested in generating excitement in peers about democracy and democratic processes Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to listen well Abe to work as a team member and give & take direction from others Inclined to take initiative and follow through on projects Comfortable creating social media posts and writing email content #J-18808-Ljbffr
