Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantThe Staff Accountant maintains financial records, prepares reports, and ensures regulatory compliance. This role manages daily accounting tasks, maintains the general ledger, and supports month-end closing.This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of standard accounting principles. The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Financial Controller.Roles & Responsibilities:Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and timely, ensuring sales tax is properly recorded.Apply customer payments received via checks, ACH, wire transfers, portal payments, and credit cards.Perform daily collection activities via email, phone, and portals to reduce outstanding customer balancesServe as the primary contact for customer payment inquiries, disputes, and account questions.Prepare and send account statements and collection notices.Resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues by coordinating with customers, sales, and other internal departments.Prepare and record Balance Sheet and P&L journal entriesPrepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end balance sheet account reconciliationsProvide backup for the ERP system month-end close processPrepare, record, and maintain monthly Construction in Progress (CIP) and Fixed Asset recordsProvide support and documentation for external financial auditsSkills & Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance3-5 years of professional accounting experience in a robust manufacturing and service industryProficiency in Excel, including Lookups and Pivot TablesStrong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Strong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent time management and ability to meet deadlinesClear verbal and written communication skillsAbout Optikos:For over 40 years, Optikos® has provided innovative applications of optical technology, both products and services, to commercial, government, and consumer products organizations worldwide.
