Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care in the Operating Room environment, ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes. Supervises and collaborates with surgical team members to deliver coordinated, effective perioperative care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients preoperatively to determine their readiness for surgery.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans tailored to surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
• Monitor and respond to patient conditions during surgical procedures, promptly addressing any issues.
• Educate patients and their families about perioperative processes, expected outcomes, and post-operative care.
• Maintain sterile techniques and uphold safety standards throughout surgical cases.

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Prior experience in operating room nursing or perioperative care preferred.
• BLS certification from an approved vendor required.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced surgical settings.
• Strong critical thinking, technical, and communication skills.
