About the Position

Job Title: RN - Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 (19:00-07:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Experience with high-risk maternal patients Circulating Operating Room and triage experience Description: This position involves providing care for patients in labor and delivery. The unit is a designated maternal center caring for complex patients at any gestation. There are 22 beds, including 16 labor beds. The unit is staffed by approximately 100 personnel, including registered nurses and support staff. The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:1, depending on the situation. Staff on night shifts include one charge nurse and a minimum of two surgical techs, alongside a unit clerk. The unit performs various procedures including vaginal and cesarean section deliveries, tubal ligations, and cerclage placements. Candidates should be able to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and be team-oriented. The unit has a supportive leadership team that actively engages in patient care as needed. There are plans for renovation to update all rooms on the floor. The unit has received recognition and awards for excellence in maternal care.
