About the Position

Experience with high-risk maternal patients. Circulating Operating Room and Triage experience. Description: This is a seasonal contract position in Labor and Delivery. The unit cares for complex patients at any gestation. There are 22 beds, including 16 labor beds. The unit is staffed with approximately 100 members, including RNs and support staff. During the night shift, there is 1 charge nurse, a minimum of 2 surgical techs, and 1 unit clerk. Staffing levels typically include 9 staff during the week and 7 during weekends. Patient ratios are 1:2 or 1:1, depending on the complexity of care. Procedures performed include vaginal and cesarean section deliveries, tubal ligations, cerclage placements and removals, D&C, and PASD cases. Ideal candidates are multi-taskers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing situations. A team-oriented approach is essential for this unit. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs. Standardized order sets are available for review on the unit. The unit has received accolades for being among the best maternity hospitals. It is recognized for its high level of care. The unit has experienced leadership that is supportive of its staff. Renovations are underway to update all rooms.
