Position Summary Technical Manufacturing Chemist I We are seeking a Technical Manufacturing Chemist I to join our Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit in Scarborough, Maine. In this role, you will produce materials used in immunology-based chromatography and enzyme tests while supporting manufacturing operations, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives. Location Abbott Rapid Diagnostics 10 Southgate Road Scarborough, ME 04074, USA Key Responsibilities Support and maintain manufacturing production schedules. Manufacture critical and non-critical bioreagents according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Perform in-process quality control testing, including qualifications, inspections, and titrations. Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Investigate production issues and identify opportunities for process improvements. Develop, create, and execute protocols focused on product and process enhancement. Follow established laboratory procedures and safety requirements. Coordinate manufacturing activities within a team environment to ensure uninterrupted production and bioreagent supply. Document manufacturing activities accurately and maintain required records. Assist in maintaining inventory and raw material availability to support production demands. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Technical Skills & Experience Experience with the following laboratory techniques and equipment is preferred: Pipetting techniques Spectrophotometry High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) pH meter operation Gel Electrophoresis
