Duration: Temp - 8 Weeks from projected start date with possibility for contractor is converted to a full-time employee

Pay Range: $17/hr $18.61/hr (W2)

Job Description

We are seeking a UI Adjudicator (Benefits and Eligibility Specialist) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in public assistance eligibility determination, claims adjudication, and customer service and a proven ability to conduct accurate interviews, verify documentation, and render timely eligibility decisions .

Responsibilities:

• Review applications for public assistance programs and determine eligibility through interactive interviewing and fact gathering.
• Verify accuracy and completeness of application forms, documentation, and data across systems.
• Conduct follow-ups with applicants and recipients to obtain required information and resolve discrepancies.
• Explain rules, policies, and determinations to claimants, representatives, employers, medical providers, and government agencies.
• Advise applicants on appropriate assistance programs and facilitate next steps to receive benefits.
• Document case actions, communications, and determinations in accordance with policy and confidentiality requirements.
• Attend in-person training and meetings; travel to off-site locations for meetings, training, or conferences as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with eligibility determination, claims adjudication, or public assistance casework.
• Strong interviewing, documentation, and data verification skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret and apply program rules, policies, and procedures.
• Proficiency with case management systems and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Skills:

• Prior experience in state or federal public assistance programs.
• Bilingual communication.

Training and Work Arrangement:

• Position is 100% onsite.
• Approximately 7 weeks of in-person training.
• Potential transition to full-time employment upon successful completion of training.
