Computer Numerical Control Machinist

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for developing CNC programs, supporting process development initiatives, and ensuring efficient production of precision-machined components. The ideal candidate will have extensive Swiss machining experience, strong CAM programming skills, and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced Citizen Swiss work centers while contributing to new product launches, process optimization, and the production of high-quality components for the medical device industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for complex precision-machined componenets
• Program, set up, and operate Citizen Swiss work centers as needed
• Develop machine setups, tooling packages, and workholding strategies to maximize efficiency and quality
• Support new product introductions and job launches from prototype through production
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues on the production floor
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to improve processes and reduce cycle times
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in programming, tooling, and machining methods
• Ensure programs and processes meet customer specifications and quality requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong experience programming Swiss-style CNC machines, preferably Citizen Swiss equipment
• Proven ability to develop programs for complex, tight-tolerance components
• Experience supporting production machining operations and process developmentent
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Technical Skills

• Advanced CAM programming experience using Mastercam, Esprit, GibbsCAM, or similar software
• Strong understanding of Swiss machining processes and best practices
• Advanced GD&T knowledge and blueprint reading capabilities
• Experience with tooling selection, workholding design, and process optimization
• Ability to analyze machining challenges and develop effective solutions.

Preferred Experience

• Medical device manufacturing experience
• Experience with process validation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Background supporting high-volume, precision machining environments.
