About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starting Plant Manager to lead our steel manufacturing operations in the Blaine, MN area. This role is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and profitable performance while building a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and accountability.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, experience in metals or heavy industrial environments, and the ability to lead change across all plant functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA, environmental, and internal HSE standards.

• Lead daily plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, logistics, and scheduling.

• Develop and coach operations personnel; build strong cross-training programs.

• Oversee reliability, preventive maintenance, and repair of saws, CNC equipment, grinders, and related machinery.

• Manage customer order processing, inventory flow, shipping/receiving, and delivery performance.

• Establish, monitor, and communicate plant KPIs while driving accountability.

• Implement and sustain Lean manufacturing practices (5S, visual management, CI).

• Manage operating expenses, consumables, and budgeting activities.

• Act as an Agent of Change promoting continuous improvement and operational discipline.

• Support quality assurance and timely resolution of quality issues.

• Collaborate with leadership on long-term plant strategy and performance.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

• Experience in steel, metals, machining, fabrication, or heavy industrial environments.

• Familiarity with band saw cutting.

• Experience implementing Lean manufacturing and visual systems.

• Strong communication and ability to work across all levels of the organization.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• High proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and related tools.

• SAP knowledge highly beneficial (production, maintenance, inventory, quality).

• Leadership traits reflecting ownership, accountability, problem-solving, and change management.
