Senior Ethics and Compliance Investigator

The Senior Ethics and Compliance (E&C) Investigator conducts investigations into ethics and compliance issues and remediates employee adherence to Novo Nordisk policies, federal and state laws, and regulations. Responsibilities Independently manage and conduct internal investigations of alleged policy violations and unethical/illegal conduct. Create and maintain investigation workplans; review source documents; conduct witness/subject interviews. Prepare evidentiary case files, reports, and summaries suitable for downstream enforcement/recovery/defense. Maintain fair, unbiased investigation processes (triage, discipline recommendations, reporting). Perform root-cause analysis; recommend remediation and/or discipline. Deliver clear written reports and oral briefings for senior leadership. Ensure timely escalation of significant cases to E&C leadership. Partner with in-house/external counsel for legally privileged investigations. Identify investigation patterns/trends/risks; recommend mitigation. Collaborate with E&C teams to share lessons learned, support risk management, training, and annual E&C Risk Assessment. Support the Ethics & Compliance Program; promote partnership, prevention, and risk management. Stay current on relevant laws/regulations/enforcement and propose program updates. Participate in industry associations/events. Physical Requirements 5–15% overnight travel. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; JD or advanced degree in compliance/health-care fields preferred. CFE certification highly preferred. 8+ years combined pharmaceutical/compliance/legal/regulatory/audit experience (or 6+ years with advanced degree/certificate). 5+ years as an investigator/auditor, preferably in pharma, with emphasis on marketing/sales. High ethics/integrity; respect and Novo Nordisk Way principles. Data-driven tools (AI/ML, Excel incl. pivot tables/VLOOKUP; social/media sources; Relativity or similar). Strong interpersonal/influence skills; collaboration ability. Attention to detail, sound judgment, critical thinking; ability to analyze/present data. Knowledge of federal/state laws, regulations, and industry guidance for pharma. Ability to manage competing priorities and confidential information.
