The Environmental Technician plays a critical role in supporting environmental protection and compliance efforts by conducting field sampling and monitoring activities. This position involves collecting and analyzing water, air, soil, and groundwater samples to assess environmental quality and identify potential contamination. The technician ensures that all sampling and monitoring procedures comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and standards. Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with water sampling, air monitoring, soil sampling, and groundwater sampling techniques.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste handling and environmental compliance regulations.
• Familiarity with underground storage tank inspection and solid waste management practices.
• Ability to work safely in field environments and follow established safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification as an Environmental Technician or related professional credential.
• Experience using environmental data management software and GIS tools.
• Prior work experience in environmental consulting or regulatory agencies.
• Training in OSHA safety standards and hazardous materials handling.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct water, air, soil, and groundwater sampling in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
• Perform air monitoring and hazardous waste assessments to identify potential environmental risks.
• Inspect and monitor underground storage tanks and solid waste management sites to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain and calibrate field equipment to guarantee accurate data collection.
• Document sampling activities and prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and observations.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists and regulatory agencies to support environmental compliance initiatives.
• Assist in the development and implementation of environmental monitoring plans and corrective action measures.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines during all field operations.
